Year in Review: 2017

I like to reminisce on 2017 often: easily the most chaotic and incredible year of my life when I flew on 55 flights shooting brand campaigns and individuals across seven countries and dozens of U.S. states on photo jobs with my friends. I also got to work on a number of personal projects and crossed off working with some of my dream clients this year, and I’m grateful for it all. Here are the highlights…

I started the year off with a shoot I’d been dreaming of for quite a while: Elizabeth & Parker modeled and Beth Level did hair and makeup.

In February, I went to Utah for a handful of shoots— one of my favorite photos from the trip was of Zoe Lazerson & Josh Campbell

I shot with Lindsay & Pat Philley in Seattle at Discovery Park, also in February.

Back home in Portland, I photographed Sonora Mindwerl for Ania Bridal.

Darren Barnett

Next, I went to LA for a few shoots and had the chance to photograph Darren Barnet.

The whirlwind travel began in March with the first stop in Santorini, Greece.

From there, my friend Sam Elkins & I headed for Copenhagen and then the Faroe Islands to shoot for Lander as well as Visit Faroe Islands.

One of my favorite shots from the Faroes: more here for Visit Faroe Islands Tourism.

I made it back to Portland for a few days to shoot an engagement session at Cannon Beach— one of my favorite places on earth.

I’d already had a trip booked to London months prior to the first Europe trip to shoot for a few hotels and visit a friend, so back to Europe I went. This is a photo for Blake’s Hotel. I’m eternally grateful I decided to go back to Portland for five days between these trips because that’s when I met my now husband who was visiting a friend from out of state.

After my time in London, I went to Paris for the first time and shot for Hotel Monge.

While in Paris, a friend from Oregon (Julia Overby) was in the city so we got together to shoot some photos of her and her partner.

From Paris, I flew to San Francisco and then to LA, and then to Miami, and then to Turks and Caicos for Kim & Kroy Biermann’s vow renewal.

From Turks & Caicos, I flew back to Miami and then to Cuba for a nine-day trip with Alaska Airlines. See more here.

Easily one of my favorite trips with the best crew.

Back in Portland, it was May and I shot some studio photos with Sam Selis.

In June, we flew to New York and shot our friends’ Max & Madi’s engagement in Brooklyn.

This was late summer at Cape Kiwanda: the most interesting conditions I’ve ever seen at the Oregon coast. It was sunny and foggy, creating the most mesmerizing haze. Available for licensing on Stocksy.

Next, I flew to Georgia to shoot an elopement a bit outside of Atlanta.

An October morning on Mt. Hood.

In November, we traveled to Marfa for the first time.

We shot for Toyota on the road trip— this was a pit stop at Monahans Sandhills.

I wrapped up the year with a trip to LA to shoot for Dreamers & Lovers Bridal in Malibu. Thank you for viewing!
